The Senior Special Assistant to Governor Ademola Adeleke on Renewable Energy, Hon. Funmiso Babarinde has declared that Governor Adeleke’s towering achievements across Osun State will guarantee his re-election on August 8, 2026, insisting that the opposition’s recent political moves amount to mere celebration without substance.
Hon. Babarinde said the Governor’s “giant strides” in infrastructure, workers’ welfare, education, healthcare, and grassroots development have firmly positioned him ahead of any challenger.
According to him, the administration has transformed the governance landscape in less than one term, delivering tangible projects across the three senatorial districts and restoring confidence in public service.
“Governor Adeleke has moved governance from promises to performance,” Babarinde stated. “From massive road rehabilitation projects to prompt payment of salaries and pensions, improved funding for schools, renovation of public facilities, and revitalization of primary healthcare centres, the results are visible for all to see.”
He argued that the people of Osun are politically sophisticated and will vote based on impact rather than propaganda.
Reacting to the opposition party’s choice of a deputy governorship candidate from Ife North Local Government, Babarinde challenged the celebration trailing the announcement, questioning how that decision would translate into electoral victory.
“Politics is not about where a candidate comes from; it is about what you have done for the people,” he said. “Ife North is predominantly PDP and Accord in structure and loyalty. The people there have benefited directly from Governor Adeleke’s people-centered policies. Symbolism will not win votes, performance will.”
The Senior Special Assistant emphasized that grassroots support for the Governor remains strong in Ife North and across the state, noting that community leaders, youth groups, market associations, and civil servants have openly expressed satisfaction with the administration.
“As August 8 approaches, the momentum is clear,” he added. “The people know who has worked for them and who is merely repositioning for power.”
He concluded confidently that the forthcoming election would reaffirm the popularity of the Governor’s administration.
“August 8 is here,” Babarinde declared. “The people will speak again. IMOLE will win.”
