A former member of the Oyo State House of Assembly and House of Representatives hopeful for Akinyele/Lagelu Federal Constituency, Honourable Bolaji Saheed Badmos, has commended the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State as the party holds its state congress today.
In a statement personally signed and made available to journalists in Ibadan, Badmos praised the party’s leadership for what he described as their commitment to internal democracy, inclusiveness, and due process in the buildup to the congress.
He called on party members across the state to ensure the exercise is conducted peacefully, transparently, and in strict compliance with party guidelines.
“The state congress is a critical exercise that will further strengthen our party’s structure. I urge all members to remain calm, orderly, and committed to peace and unity. The credibility of the process is paramount,” he stated.
Badmos emphasized that unity remains the foundation of electoral success, noting that the experience of the 2023 general elections demonstrated that no political party can guarantee victory when it approaches the polls as a divided house.
“The lesson from 2023 is clear, division weakens our collective strength. If we must achieve our objectives in 2027, we must stand together as one united family,” he said.
The Akinyele/Lagelu federal seat hopeful expressed confidence that the APC in Oyo State has learned from past challenges and is now better positioned to consolidate its structure ahead of the 2027 general elections.
He also reaffirmed his confidence in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the APC at the national level, expressing optimism about the party’s prospects in future elections.
Badmos urged party stakeholders to prioritize reconciliation where necessary and to place the overall interest of the party above individual ambitions, stressing that sustained unity and grassroots mobilization would determine the party’s success.
