The Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adeoye Aribasoye says political stakeholders within the All Progressives Congress, APC in Ikole local government are united behind Governor Biodun Oyebanji for continuity of good governance.
Aribasoye stated this in Ikole Ekiti during the commissioning of Ikole township road and
33kv line from Ilumoba via Ijesa Isu to Ikole by the Governor as part of his second anniversary in office.
The speaker noted that the local government had enjoyed massive infrastructural and human capital developments under the Oyebanji administration, highlighting the need to sustain support for continuity of the good governance.
Aribasoye whose remarks was repeatedly interrupted by songs from jubilant members of the community, said political leaders in the local government operate harmoniously in line with the Oyebanji leadership model of accomodating all interests and bringing leaders together.
He reeled out landmark benefits derived by the local government to include the Agriculture Processing Zone, upgrade of Ikole General Hospital to Federal Medical Centre, and political appointments adding that the axis would also benefit immensely in the Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project, RAAMP.
Underlining the numerous advantages of the Agric. Processing Zone, Rt. Hon. Aribasoye explained that the cluster farms established by youths in the area was a right step in the direction of food security and sufficiency.
In his address at the event, Governor Oyebanji thanked the people of Ikole local government for passionately supporting his administration as he described the Speaker and other leaders in the area as excellent, loyal and full of capacity.
He underlined the importance of road infrastructure and electricity as the engine room of development, calling on the people to ensure proper road maintenance and protection of other public facilities.
Oyebanji assured that corresponding compensation would be paid for every land acquired for agricultural and developmental purposes, emphasizing the status of Ikole LG as the food basket of the state.
