An All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain and Senior Special Assistant to the President on National Assembly Matters (House of Reps), Hon. Ibraheem Kunle Olarewaju, has expressed deep sorrow and sympathy with the people of Otun-Ekiti, the Oore of Otun-Ekiti, His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr) Adekunle Adeayo Adeagbo, and the Governor of Ekiti State, His Excellency Biodun Oyebanji, following the tragic accident that claimed several lives and led to the destruction of properties in the town.
In a condolence message made available to journalists, the presidential aide commiserated with entire Otun indigenes, praying for divine comfort, strength, and healing during this difficult time.
“This unfortunate incident is a huge loss to our community and Ekiti State at large. I deeply sympathise with the families of the victims, and the good people of Otun-Ekiti. May Almighty Allah grant eternal rest to the departed souls and give fortitude to those left behind,” he said.
Hon. Olarewaju called on relevant authorities, including road safety and emergency management agencies, to intensify efforts toward preventing avoidable accidents through stricter enforcement of traffic regulations, improved safety awareness, and strengthened emergency response mechanisms.
He also appealed to motorists and road users to exercise caution and patience on the roads, stressing that collective responsibility remains key to safeguarding lives and property.
The APC chieftain urged residents of Otun-Ekiti to remain united, peaceful, and supportive of one another, assuring them of his continued solidarity and unwavering commitment to the safety, wellbeing, and development of the community.
