A delegation of the Ekiti State Government led by the State Commandant, Ekiti State Peace Corps, Hon. Dele Owoju, on Wednesday visited major bus terminals in Ado-Ekiti to enforce the government-approved reduction in transport fares.
According to a video that surfaced on social media this morning, Hon. Dele Owoju and his team were seen addressing commercial drivers and transport union officials, warning against arbitrary fare hikes and exploitation of commuters.
The delegation emphasized that the state government would not tolerate actions that place additional economic burden on citizens, especially in the face of current economic realities.
Drivers were directed to strictly adhere to the approved fare structure or face appropriate sanctions.
Commuters at the terminal applauded the intervention, describing it as a relief, while some drivers expressed willingness to comply with the directive.
Say NO to Driver Exploitation.
Fair transport fares are essential for the welfare of the people.
