Political stalwarts from the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Osun State have expressed their determination to support the most competent standard bearer in the party for next year’s governorship election.
Leaders including Hon Adeoye Adelakun, Maruf Olanrewaju, Larry J from Isokan local government, Kehinde Olamolu from Ifelodun, Folarin Fafowora from Ilesa West, Bisi Odewumi from Ife North, Mufutau Oladapo from Olorunda and Dr Segun Adeyeni from Ife East local government area of the State, spoke about the need for Osun APC to give the party’s flag to a candidate with the highest level of credibility and excellent records.
They all expressed their minds at the launch of the Alubarika Movement in Osogbo, Osun State capital.
The speakers charged members of the Movement to go all out to work for the victory of the party in the 2026 elections in the State.
They unanimously agreed that the party needs a candidate whose presence resonates on the political scene, someone who has given so much to the party from the unit to the ward level.
In his remarks, the National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, Dr Ajibola Basiru, stressed that APC remains one and united in the State.
While stressing that choosing a candidate for the party is not a back-door affair, he urged members of the Alubarika Movement to start work immediately from units to the State level to ensure that APC takes over the helms of affairs of Osun State in the next election.
“You have a job to do. We have to send the rudderless ship of the PDP away.” He said.
“The infrastructure drive in the State does not justify the huge allocations to the State in the last two years.
“Take another look at it. A government that wants to develop human resources is conducting phantom interviews everywhere and leaving the qualified applicants out in the cold.
“Its health, educational, and agricultural policies are an elephantine failure.”
Dr. Basiru who observed that APC has continued to grow from strength to strength in recent years with defections from the ranks of the PDP and other political parties, emphasised that APC will win in 2026 stressing that Osun is tired of a family affair government.
