The Ekiti State office of the Federal Character Commission (FCC) witnessed heightened political activity as Hon. Sola Fakanle officially resumed duties, an event widely regarded as a significant milestone in the state’s political landscape.
The occasion drew a large gathering of political leaders, government officials, party loyalists, traditional figures, and stakeholders from across Ekiti State, who converged to show solidarity and express confidence in the new FCC commissioner.
Hon. Fakanle arrived at the office in the company of a high-powered entourage, underscoring the broad support for his appointment. Among those present were Rt. Hon. Tope Ademiluyi, former Acting Governor of Ekiti State; Prof. Femi Akinwumi, Chairman of the Ekiti State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB); Hon. Tajudeen Akingbolu, Director-General of the Ekiti State Transport Agency; Hon. Kareem Agunbiade, member of the Ekiti State House of Assembly; Alhaji Yaya Aliyu; Hon. Taye Sulaiman, Senior Special Assistant to the Ekiti State Governor on Transportation; and Hon. Temitayo Mayowa-Ojo, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Social Investment, alongside other political and community leaders.
Addressing the gathering, Hon. Fakanle expressed profound gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and relevant authorities for the confidence reposed in him. He described his appointment as a call to service and an opportunity to more robustly project the interests of Ekiti State at the federal level.
“This responsibility is not just about office, but about service, fairness, and delivering tangible results for the people of Ekiti State,” he said.
He assured stakeholders that his tenure would consolidate existing achievements while surpassing previous records through commitment, transparency, and effective leadership.
The FCC commissioner pledged to be a firm advocate for equity, inclusiveness, and justice, stressing that Ekiti State would no longer be passive in the allocation of federal opportunities.
Hon. Fakanle further pledged to work closely with political leaders, grassroots structures, and institutional stakeholders to ensure that qualified indigenes of Ekiti State receive their rightful share of federal appointments, employment opportunities, and intervention programmes.
Several speakers at the event described Hon. Fakanle as a seasoned administrator and grassroots politician with the experience and vision required to deliver effective representation at the national level.
They expressed confidence that his presence at the Federal Character Commission would translate into increased federal visibility and benefits for the state.
