A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Federal Commissioner of the Public Complaints Commission (PCC) in Ekiti State, Prince Akintade Olayisade, has urged residents of Ekiti State to embrace the New Year with renewed commitment to unity, accountability, and peaceful coexistence, while commending President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for what he described as notable achievements recorded so far by the current administration.
In a New Year message made available to journalists on Thursday, Olayisade extended his goodwill to the people of the state, praising their resilience and patience in the face of economic and social challenges confronting the nation.
According to him, the beginning of a new year offers an opportunity for reflection on civic responsibility, national unity, and the collective effort required to strengthen democratic institutions and public confidence in governance.
Olayisade commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for initiating reforms aimed at repositioning Nigeria’s economy, strengthening governance frameworks, and restoring confidence in public institutions. He noted that while reforms often require time to yield full benefits, the administration has demonstrated political will in addressing long-standing structural challenges.
“The achievements recorded so far under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu reflect a commitment to rebuilding institutions and laying a foundation for long-term national development,” he said. “Sustainable progress requires patience, collective sacrifice, and constructive engagement by citizens.”
The APC chieftain emphasized the importance of accountability and transparency in public service, noting that these principles align with the mandate of the Public Complaints Commission. He explained that the commission serves as a vital mechanism for addressing grievances arising from administrative injustice, abuse of office, and maladministration.
According to Olayisade, access to justice and responsive public institutions are essential to democratic stability. He therefore encouraged residents of Ekiti State to take advantage of the services of the Public Complaints Commission whenever their rights are infringed upon, assuring them of fair and impartial handling of complaints.
He also called on youths to remain law-abiding and engage in productive activities, emphasizing the role of young people in national development and social stability.
Olayisade further appealed to traditional rulers, religious leaders, and community stakeholders to continue promoting peace, dialogue, and moral values within their communities, noting that security and development thrive in an atmosphere of unity and mutual respect.
He reaffirmed the commitment of the Public Complaints Commission in Ekiti State to professionalism, impartiality, and service to the people, assuring citizens that the commission would continue to protect their rights without fear or favour.
The APC chieftain concluded by wishing the people of Ekiti State a peaceful and prosperous New Year, expressing optimism that the year ahead would bring improved governance, stronger institutions, and renewed national confidence.
He urged citizens to remain committed to democratic values, responsible citizenship, and nation-building as Nigeria continues on its path of reform and renewal.
