In a show of compassion and community service, the Special Assistant on Media to the Ekiti State Governor, Hon. Yewande Abimbola Aribasoye, has distributed year-end palliatives to over 60 families across Wards 08, 09 and 10 in Odo Ayedun-Ekiti.
The exercise, carried out on Tuesday, involved the distribution of cash support and bags of rice, delivered directly to beneficiaries in their homes, a move described by residents as both thoughtful and dignifying.
The distribution was coordinated on her behalf by a close associate, Mr. Wale King, who led a door-to-door outreach to ensure that the palliatives reached the intended recipients, particularly vulnerable and low-income households, as the festive season approaches.
Speaking through Mr. King, Hon. Aribasoye reaffirmed her commitment to the welfare of the people, noting that the initiative was driven by a desire to give back to the community and ease the burden faced by many families.
“As the year draws to a close, it is important for us to remember those who are struggling. This gesture is our little way of sharing hope and standing with our people during this festive period,” she said.
Beneficiaries expressed deep appreciation for the gesture, praising the personal approach adopted in the distribution. Many described the support as timely, given the prevailing economic challenges.
