The Ekiti State Commandant of the Peace Corps of Nigeria, Hon. Dele Owoju, has commended the performance of Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, describing his administration as impactful and people-oriented.
Owoju said the Governor’s emergence as a consensus candidate at the recently concluded party primary election reflected the confidence reposed in him by party stakeholders and the electorate in the state.
He particularly praised the state government’s Bring Back Our Youths in Agriculture Programme, noting that the initiative recently recorded the disbursement of ₦1 billion profit to 4,657 young participants from the last farming season.
According to him, the programme supports youths through access to farmland, provision of essential farm inputs, technical guidance, and guaranteed markets for agricultural produce, thereby promoting sustainable livelihoods and food security in the state.
Owoju added that the agribusiness scheme operates a cluster-farming model focused on major crops and has expanded its farm centres from five to twelve locations across Ekiti State, covering more than 5,000 hectares of cleared farmland.
He stated that the achievements of the Oyebanji administration since its inception in 2022 justified the mandate given to the Governor by the people of Ekiti, adding that the electorate made the right decision in electing him.
The Peace Corps Commandant urged residents of the state to sustain their support for the Governor by backing his administration in the 2026 governorship election, stressing that continuity would help consolidate the developmental gains recorded so far.
