A Legal practitioner and philanthropist, Barr. Yemi Ayeni, has appealed to the Federal Government to decentralise the aesthetic development of the Federal Capital Territory to enhance livelihood on other parts of the FCT
Ayeni, a UK trained, made the appeal in Abuja in an exclusive chat with the CEO of 24 News TV & Radio, Ahmed Salami.
He lauded President Bola Tinubu for appointing former Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike as the FCT Minister, saying that the President must have seen some traits in him.
He described the FCT minister as a focused, visionary and a workaholic person, which he said have formed the opinion of the President to have appointed him a minister in the first instance, and among other factors to have made him a minister in charge of FCT.
He said that regardless of diverse opinions about Wike, he has remained committed to the transformation of FCT, his doggedness and focus-driven style of administration must have endeared him to Mr President.
He said that whatever the records, either success or failure ends up on the table of the President as it forms part of the records of his performance.
“Whatever your Ministers do, the results will be attributed to you, either failure or success and once President Tinubu is happy with what Wike is doing, other things are stories.
“But in truth, the minister is actually working and doing well. We need someone that can be firm and take firm decisions in this Country. I will, however, like to advise him to do less of talking and work more,”Ayeni said.
Expressing his apolitical opinion on the present administration in the Country, the legal expert, said that policies of President Bola Tinubu will turn Nigeria around positively in the long run.
Identifying with the current global economic hardship, Barr. Ayeni remained objective in the positive economic turnaround for Nigeria, considering the effects of the policies being implemented by the present administration.
He, however, advised government to put in place necessary palliative measures before drastic policies are implemented to cushion its effects on the populace.
