The Honourable Commissioner for Establishments and Training, Mr. Afolabi Ayantayo, recently hosted the management team of the Lateef Jakande Leadership Academy (LJLA) during a sensitization visit to his office.
While welcoming the delegation, Mr. Ayantayo commended the Academy’s management for meeting the expectations of the Lagos State Government. He reiterated that the establishment of the Academy was aimed at grooming visionary leaders capable of addressing the shortcomings of past leadership.
Highlighting the government’s commitment to fostering impactful partnerships, the Commissioner revealed plans to collaborate with the private sector to ensure graduates of the Academy are absorbed by multinational and corporate organizations.
Mr. Ayantayo emphasised the State Government’s expectation for the Academy to serve as a breeding ground for transformational leadership.
In her remarks, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mrs. Olubusola Abidakun, praised the Academy’s efforts while noting that the government is committed to reshaping the mindset within the public service to align with private-sector standards. She encouraged the fellows of the Academy to embody, reflect, and sustain these progressive ideals in their professional endeavours.
Earlier, the Team Lead of the Lateef Jakande Leadership Academy, Mrs. Bola Adegoke, who represented the Executive Secretary, Mrs. Ayisat Agbaje-Okunade, provided an overview of the Academy’s operations.
She highlighted various programmes being implemented to achieve its objectives. Mrs. Adegoke expressed gratitude to the Honourable Commissioner and the Permanent Secretary for the warm reception and continued support.
