The Lagos State Government has commended Dacurate Insight for its commitment to building the capacities of students across schools in the state, especially for rewarding excellence through educational support, among other initiatives.
The Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Mr. Jamiu Alli-Balogun gave the commendation at the Dacurate Leadership Debate Competition organised by Dacurate Insight Technologies for Secondary Schools Students across the State, held recently at Muson Centre, Lagos Island.
Represented by the Head of Special Duties and Innovation, Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, Mr. Olakunle Dasilva, the Commissioner stated that the Debate Competition will ultimately develop students’ in the art of public speaking and oratory. He added that the competition will also boost the confidence of participating students and provide an enabling platform for the younger generation to express themselves and share valuable opinions on topical issues.
Mr. Alli-Balogun pointed out that the Annual Debate Competition organised by Dacurate Insight will further mentor young people and ultimately complement the government’s efforts in raising these future leaders, noting that the Government has reinvigorated the education sector in a bid to enhance teaching and learning outcomes.
According to him “The task of building a strong and capable society, especially by nurturing the youths, become less daunting if public and private stakeholders collaborate to support the State Government’s unwavering commitment to the growth of the education sector”.
He emphasised that the organisation’s efforts towards capacity building, community support and empowering students to be self-reliant are truly worth emulation, stressing that Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu’s positive transformation of the education sector to provide a well-equipped learning environment for all students, equipping them with necessary academic skills for the future job markets.
Earlier in his welcome remarks, the Team Lead, Dacurate Insight, Mr. Korede Taomu commended the huge investment of the State Government towards the education sector, stating that the idea of the competition is because of raising young leaders that can positively share insights on issues and further proffer lasting solutions. “We recognise that empowerment of the younger generation through knowledge and practical skills is key to overcoming various societal challenges”, he said.
Mr. Taomu enthused that Dacurate Insight has continued to organise various innovative programmes to educate and empower the younger generation, adding that the competition will further stir critical thinking, public speaking and financial literacy as the theme exemplifies in a bid to enhance Nigeria’s Financial landscape.
