The Commander Nigerian Army Warfare Command (NAWC) Major General A Adamu has reiterated the need for the female troops to be brought up to speed through deliberate training to build their fighting capacity.
He made the charge during the opening ceremony of the Nigerian Army Women’s Corps (NAWC) Training Week 2022.
General Adamu who was the Special Guest of Honour in his keynote address commended the Corps Commander for his foresight in evolving the training week which he believed will provide the right platform for cross-fertilization of ideas that will expedite the attainment of the objective evolving a functional and proactive NAWC.
According to him, the capabilities of the female personnel need to be strengthened in order to provide the needed support to Nigerian Army operations.
Earlier in his welcome address, Commander NAWC Colonel DE Adamu said the training week is vital to the progress of the Corps because it affords an opportunity to brainstorm on challenges the Nigerian Army faces in tackling the emerging roles of its female personnel.
Adding that, this is one of the major pillars and the reason why the Nigerian Army Women’s Corps was founded.
The event witnessed the first lecture for the day on “Adaptive Non-Kinetic Approach and Viability of Social Media to CTCOIN Operations: The Role of Nigerian Army Female Personnel in Perspective. The lecture was delivered by the Commandant Nigerian Army Cyber Warfare School (NACWS) Brigadier General AC Adetoba.
The theme for the 5 days training week is “Evolving Roles of the Female Soldier in Non-Kinetic Approach to Counter-Insurgency Within a Joint Environment”.
The concept of the training week was borne out of the need to harness the potentials of the female officers and soldiers in the Nigerian Army in order to build a force ready to support all the engagements of the Nigerian Army.
