Homesexual: Police Manhunt Fasoyin Over Same Sex Relationship In Ibadan


The Police says it is still in hunt for Sunday Fasoyin two weeks after he was declared wanted for same sex relationship with his best friend best friend, Temitayo Adeniyi in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital.

Sunday Fasoyin has been on the run since for more than two weeks, when he was caught in a compromising position by his friend’s mother in Alakia, Ibadan. The case was reported to Gbagi Police Station, Old Ife Road in Ibadan, Oyo State.

Investigations reveal that both Temitayo and Sunday have been very close friends from their days in the Polytechnic of Ibadan. They were roommates while on campus between 1997 and 1998. Some noticed that the kind of relationship that existed between them is questionable being of the same gender.

Their sexual relationship was blew open on December 23rd, 2016, when his friend’s mother walked into the room unannounced, meeting both of them in a compromising position. Shocked by what she saw, his friend’s mother raised an alarm, calling for help, which led to a mob action. Both narrowly escaped being burn alive by angry mob which considered the action as both cultural wrong and legally outlawed.

It was just two years that the law against bisexuality took effect in Nigeria. Former president Goodluck Jonathan had signed the law prohibiting same sex marriage and prescribing 14 years jail term for anyone found guilty of the offense.

This law has put the lives of the LGBT community in Nigeria at risks as many has gone into hiding for fear of being attacked.
Their chances of surviving in Nigeria is narrow as they are faced with violent persecution on all fronts : from the state, fro cultural outlook, from religious perspective and even in the education sector.

The LGBT community in Nigeria is finding life more difficult to live by the day. The society frowns at their personality, while they are summarily condemn by the people and some section of the media even without trial.
